As many people know we always love being sent images of bikes, custom builds and the oddities that frame builders are working on. So when Sean from Ground Theory in New Zealand sent over photos of two recent builds we couldn’t have been happier to share them with you.
Sean, a mechanical engineer, started building frames back in 2012. “My home town of Nelson is ideal mountain bike territory. Once I built my first bike I was hooked and have been building frames by hand one at a time ever since. All the frames I have built so far are fillet brazed which gives the bikes a beautiful aesthetic and allows for endless geometry options. The airbrushed graphics and lettering is all done in house and one of a kind, in fact many customers are kind enough to point me in the general direction and allow me to design as I feel is best for the bike. Being able to hand over a beautiful, one of a kind bicycle that fits the rider and inspires them to ride it every day is also what inspires me to keep building and developing my passion for frame building”.
